Limes
Despite not being a great fan of two-player games, I am quite taken with this one. Both players lay out the same sequence of cards – from their own set – building up a grid of different terrain. The question is, who will score better?
Points come in different ways from the types of terrain on the cards, according to where players have put their playing pieces. While pawns are placed on a card after playing it, they can be moved later on as the players spot better scoring opportunities. Assuming you get it right!
This is a clever and surprisingly subtle game and now in a new edition for 2023.
For 1-2 players, aged 8+, playing time 20 minutes: £15.00 (£12.50 outside the UK)
