The basics of this sequel to Kingdomino are the same as the original game. Players aim to build up areas of the same terrain by laying tiles. Some tiles show crowns and the value of any area is its size times the number of crowns in it. Thus, players particularly want tiles with crowns on. However, which tile players take also decides the order of play for the next round.
What Queendomino adds are knights (meeples), which generate coins, which can be used to buy town tiles and tower pieces. The town tiles overlay the red sections of the 'dominoes' to provide special abilities and/or points. The player with the most towers gets the Queen piece, providing a discount on buying towns.
Phew! Yes, it's very much Kingdomino with knobs on, but these do add new tactical opportunities and give players more decisions to ponder over.
Queendomino can be combined with a Kingdomino set to add 1-2 more players, play over a larger grid or even go up to eight players as a team game.
For 2-4 players, aged 8+, playing time 25 minutes: £25.00 (£20.83 without tax outside the EU)
