Cover of Maskmen: a selection of the wrestlers' masks against a yellow backgroundMaskmen

The masked men in question are wrestlers, though only their masks appear in this neat little card game. It may be ten years old, but I only discovered it recently and rather enjoyed it.

The game is actually a little tricky to get your head round. Essentially, you have a hand of cards (showing masks in different colours/suits) and play 1-3 on your turn. The aim is to get rid of all your cards, of course. And the tricky bit is the restrictions on what cards can be played when.

You're playing cards to establish the ranking of the suits/wrestlers. Once the relative rank of two suits is established, it can't be changed – that's one restriction. And you must play either the same number of cards as the last player or one more, depending on circumstances. There are points for getting rid of your cards and minus points if you don't!

It's not the deepest game, but it is an entertaining challenge and doesn't take long to play.

For 2-6 players, aged 9+, playing time 20 minutes: £15.00 (£12.50 without tax outside the UK)
