Galactic Cruise
I was introduced to this at the 2026 Gathering of Friends and took to it immediately. As supervisors (and wannabe CEOs) at the Galactic Cruise company, players have to organise and run cruises around the galaxy. Starting with building and equipping a spaceship, then marketing cruises to appropriate customers and, eventually, blasting off on a tour of (part of) the galaxy. Easy, eh?
Most of what you do in the game is placing workers to carry out those actions. Once you have a ship with cabins and supplies, you can add tourists, choose your itinerary and blast off! Ideally, you want the cabins, tourists and itinerary to match (taking families on an adventure sports tour may not work out that well – and they may not use the bar much!). Cruises progress each round, gaining rewards as they go.
The game is full of clever little interactions – for example, you'll have to send one of your workers to run a cruise, reducing the number of actions you can do each turn. Similarly, re-filling a resource track gains you rewards, but also makes resources available for your competition! Decisions, decisions!
Galactic Cruise is a big game – in complexity, playing time, components and the box – and I found it great fun to play.
For 1-4 players, aged 14+, playing time 90-150 minutes: £90.00 (£75.00 tax free outside the UK)
