Amun-Re

This is the 20th anniversary (2023) edition of another Reiner Knizia classic. Your main goal is building pyramids, but the key to the game is the clever auction at the start of each round. What you get from the auction is control of a province in which you can build pyramids, amongst other things. The trick is making the most of your opportunities to score points and to power your actions.

It's also a game of two halves: after all provinces have been auctioned players score up, clear everything except pyramids from the board and repeat. The added spice this time is that provinces with pyramids are worth that bit more...

The new edition has been blinged up and offers some new modules to change how the game is played – once you've mastered the basics, that is. It was a terrific game back in 2003 and it's stood the test of time.
