I was very taken with Noria when I played it at Spiel. It is a complex game (it took a while to get through the rules) with an interesting physical mechanism at its heart (just remember that it turns clockwise – something that I kept forgetting).
There's an awful lot going on in the game and the artwork is gorgeous. The idea is that players are aiming for political power in the floating island of Noria. To do this, they produce raw materials, potentially turning them into finished goods, and manipulate political priorities. There's lots to think about and crucial decisions to make.
It's clever stuff and a deep, lengthy game. I look forward to playing it a lot more.
