The Castles of Tuscany
If you're familiar with Stefan Feld's The Castles of Burgundy, you'll recognise the similarities in this game – and the differences. Both games are about placing buildings (hexagonal tiles) onto your board, matching the colour of the building to the space it goes onto. Each type/colour provides a bonus and completing regions of the same colour scores points. However, all these are very different in Tuscany than they are in Burgundy.
The key difference in the game is that here you draw cards, playing sets to place a tile, rather than rolling dice. The Castles of Tuscany is also a faster, shorter game, considerably streamlined from its predecessor. It offers similar challenges, though: managing your resources and getting the best use of your bonuses. In fact, a typical Feld game.
